Concert Band Repertoire reading Session 2012
This event is for all directors interested in keeping abreast of new repertoire being added to our Festival lists. As is our usual practice, ABODA (WA) will be releasing the updated list at the beginning of the 2012 school year – at this special reading session.
ABODA (WA) will be presenting the session in conjunction with Theo’s Music, our principal Festival sponsor. You may be aware that the School of Instrumental Music has run a similar session for its own staff for some years. In 2012, this event will be open to all directors from private and public schools.
Participants will:
• Play through every new addition to A,B and C Divisions in full.
• Receive a descriptive summary of each piece, with essential information, such as the number of percussionists required, soloists or special requirements.
• Be able to buy the items that you want on the day. Theo’s Music will have a representative present, so bring your order book!
• Be able to catch up with other band directors after the session – some light refreshments provided.
• Receive PD certification from ABODA (WA).
Where: Churchlands Senior High School Green Room
Cost: Free!
